A White Christmas First Look in Evergreen, Colorado

My brother married a beauty today! After their nearly-five years of dating we are so excited to finally have Hannah Joy as a sister.

oh guys, the way he looks at her, the tenderness in his voice, the smile in his eyes. they are a match made in heaven. ❤  when it was time for Ethan to stay and wait for Hannah Joy to arrive for the first look, he nervously asked me how to respond when he would first see her. I reassured him, just be natural.

"well.... can I please pick her up?" (melttttt)

they are MARRIED!!!! and, with gratitude, as maid of honor, sister, friend, and photographer for the first-look ..... here in this little space of love, are the images of beautiful Hannah Joy being revealed to her darling on the wedding day of their dreams.

muah muah muah, ❤

(ps. if you missed it, photos from the rehearsal are in my personal blog space rightttt here)

Friday Frame : Edition 1

We just received images back from our elopement! Elizabeth did an incredible job and went above & beyond making our day sweeeeet.

This is one of the images from our day that keeps popping into my head.

Sooo it's STORY TIME.

Matthias is a cowboy. Now, he'd laugh if you said that to him (he laughs when I say it), but it's true. He's a hat wearing, gun carrying, eagle who never takes his boots off. And me... Welllllll, I'm not even close. The most country I've probably ever been is jamming out to a Taylor Swift song. *que the expected remarks on how un-country Swift is*

Well, we decided on a Tuesday we were ready to marry & we set the date for the following Sunday. (Why? Why not was our question!) As the days unfolded quickly, we tried to find little and meaningful ways to make our elopement/tiny wedding full of our us-ness. I knew what I needed to do. I needed a beautiful pair of boots to surprise him. I have never owned or worn a pair... Most of my life I've been known to wear "adventure boots" (because I have no idea what else to call them? any help, you guys? ;)) ... but cowgirl boots? HA! SO the search began... and ended very quickly.

The first store we stopped in I found the perfect pair and it took everything in me NOT TO TELL HIM. Because if you know me, you know when I'm excited I am VERY excited... like, bubbling over, a balloon about to burstttt excited. It was a hard secret to keep ;-) But the expression on his face made it entirely worth it. I mean, come on, look at his sweet laugh.

Now I can't seem to take my boots off. The many weddings I have shot since my own I've worn these boots to. They're special. The kind of special you don't put away in a closet. The kind of special you wear until there's nothing left. Because THAT's a story. <3

Isaac + Breeze : Downtown Houston Engagement Session

my caption on instagram when i originally uploaded a snap of these two was something like, "work on saturday's feels a lot like play." and at this point, i don't know if there is anything i can add to that. //  working with couples is my FAVORITE. seriously, if i could choose one thing to photograph for the rest of forever, it would be people-in-LOVE. the energy working with couples is unbelievable, incredible, unstoppable.

there is joy, adventure, and love to be found in everyday. i am so happy to be a part of capturing the moments that will last forever.

and a little something different than usual..... notes from the soon-to-be-marrieds:

BREEZE: "Isaac is something spectacular. Like a book you can't put down, and a song that plays in your head all day. I always dreamed of a perfect man, and after meeting Isaac those dreams were put to shame. He is my balance in life, and my best friend. I look forward to life with him by my side. Together as a team we will learn to love, and love like Christ."

ISAAC: " I love breeze so much. One of the many things I really look forward to is always having her there for me. She is my team mate, my companion, my partner in crime. She is always there to help bring water to the fires of life and work as a team to achieve and conquer together. She is so different from me in all the best ways, together we can make sound wise decisions in our eyes seeing from both within situations (extrovert) and away from situations (introvert). I will be honored to have her join me in running my rapidly growing business to help me lead and fight for success in our venture. She helps me keep my head on straight and perform at a level I could not on my own. Together we make sound solid decisions and in all these changes in business and life I really appreciate her and her differences. I am so thankful god has put her in my life and couldn't imagine being without her."
